According to coverage by Techcrunch, LinkedIn's CEO recently announced a more proactive strategy at the company. Part of that makes sense of course, since LinkedIn is notorious for being a virtual desert when it comes to actual interaction (hence the confusion when people refer to it as a "social network"). But other parts of the CEO's pronouncement seemed more like a wish-list than an actual assessment. Here are the applications or features that the CEO says will be key as LinkedIn moves forward:
InMaps: A visual depiction of your network. Designed to tell you where you fit in, I guess.
Skills: Skills graph within professional communities. Who's in demand. That kind of thing.
LinkedIn Today: Social news platform for professionals - the company's newest product.
